Terms and Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

This is a personal academic website. I do not run analytics, I do not set any cookies of my own, and I do not collect, store, or sell personal information about visitors. There is no comment system, no newsletter, no advertising, and no tracking pixels.

What I do not collect

I have no database and no server of my own. I cannot see who visits this site, and I receive no reports about individual visitors.

Hosting

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub’s servers record technical information when a page is requested — typically the requesting IP address, user agent, referring page, and a timestamp. I do not control this logging, cannot switch it off, and have no access to the resulting logs. It is governed by the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Third-party resources

Some pages load files from third-party content delivery networks. When your browser fetches one of these files, that provider necessarily sees your IP address and user agent. I have no agreement with them and receive nothing back.

None of these are used for advertising or profiling.

Google Search Console

This site is registered with Google Search Console, which is verified by a google-site-verification meta tag in the page source. Search Console reports aggregate statistics about how the site appears in Google Search — which queries surfaced it, and how many clicks and impressions it received. It does not identify individual visitors, and it sets no cookies on your browser. It is a tool for the site owner, not a tracker.

Separately, Google and other search engines crawl and index this site, as they do any public website.

Pages here link to external sites — publishers such as the ACM Digital Library and arXiv, conference websites, Google Scholar, GitHub, LinkedIn, and ORCID. Once you follow a link, that site’s own privacy policy governs. I am not responsible for their practices.

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR grants you rights of access, rectification, erasure, and objection concerning personal data held about you.

In practice I hold no personal data about visitors, so there is nothing for me to retrieve, correct, or delete. Requests concerning server logs should go to GitHub; requests concerning the CDNs above should go to the provider named.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. The full revision history is public in the site’s repository.

Terms of Use

Site content

The original text on this site — page copy, blog posts, and my CV and resume — is my own work, Copyright © Vidush Singhal. You are welcome to quote or cite it with attribution. Please ask before republishing a page in full.

Publications

Copyright in my published papers rests with their respective publishers (ACM, Schloss Dagstuhl / LIPIcs, and others), and each is governed by that publisher’s terms. Any versions linked or hosted here are author versions, made available for personal and scholarly use in line with the publishers’ author-posting policies. For any other use, obtain permission from the publisher of record. Each entry on the publications page links to its authoritative version.

Preprints hosted on arXiv are governed by the licence selected at submission, shown on the arXiv abstract page.

Site source code

This website is built with Academic Pages, a fork of the Minimal Mistakes Jekyll theme by Michael Rose. The theme is released under the MIT Licence, reproduced in the LICENSE file of the site repository. The MIT Licence covers the theme’s code; it does not cover my written content or my publications.

No warranty

This site is provided as is. I make no warranty that its content is complete, current, or error-free, and nothing here constitutes professional advice. Research descriptions are summaries — the published papers are authoritative.
